Empowerment Through Art and Authenticity

About Me

Hi there! My name is Joe Ayers. Welcome to my website! I am an actor, director, choreographer, teaching artist, and performance coach currently based in San Francisco, but I will be relocating to Los Angeles in early 2025! I am a proud graduate of UC Berkeley where I earned three degrees in Theater, Dance, and English. I went on to earn my MFA in Acting from the FSU/Asolo Conservatory. I’ve been lucky enough to train internationally as well in Rio de Janeiro and London. I have taught at renowned arts institutions such as the American Conservatory Theater, San Francisco Opera Guild, Asolo Repertory Theatre, California Shakespeare Theater, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Berkeley Playhouse, and many others. Additionally, I’m currently on faculty in the Theater Arts Department at Chabot College, where I will be directing and choreographing RENT in Spring 2025! As an artist, I am especially passionate about telling Queer stories. My mission is to uplift all Queer voices and stories and to do it with radical joy. Thus, by boldly and unapologetically embodying my authenticity through my art and in my life, I hope to inspire others to do the same.
